The Best of Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition is the largest whisky competition in Asia and the only one of its kind in Japan. At the TWSC22 event, held for the fourth time in May 2022 in Tokyo, Teerenpeli whisky won a gold medal and another Teerenpeli whisky took silver in the European whiskies category.

Teerenpeli’s export direction toward Japan is no coincidence. There are many cultural similarities between Finland and Japan. Both countries are guided by a pursuit of functionality, simplicity, and sustainable beauty. In Japan—Teerenpeli Brewery & Distillery’s newest export market—whisky culture is thriving. Whisky is extremely popular in Japan, which is the world’s second-largest producer of malt whisky after Scotland.
