Teerenpeli Single Malt whiskies are based on pure groundwater of the Salpausselkä region, Finnish malted barley and gently peated malt. These are used to create the new make spirit, which is matured in casks that are originally from Spanish sherry producers. Each cask is filled with 63.5% ABV new make spirit, with either a traditional or peated twist. The result is a whisky that combines nature, craftsmanship and timelessness.
You can choose a small, 65–70-litre cask used to mature Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry, for example, or bigger 140-litre bourbon cask. For more rare casks, such as port wine or madeira casks, please contact the distillery.
The cask of your choice is prepared at the distillery, where you can fill it yourself with the new make spirit of your choice. If you wish, you can also name the cask. Once the cask has been filled, you get your cask certificate and contract. You can also take pictures of the filling.
Your cask is stored and matured for 3–10 years in Teerenpeli’s alcohol tax free storage. For small casks, we recommend maturation of 3–5 years.
When the product has matured to your taste, it is bottled. You have the possibility to design the label for your whisky bottles. The final purchase will be done as a private person through Alko. At this stage, the bottling costs and current taxes will be charged. After bottling, the empty whisky cask is yours.
