“Sinetti” — Debut Album
Known for his energetic and expressive style, vibraphonist Mikko Antila has already established a strong position within the Finnish music scene. His debut album, “Sinetti”, was released through Flame Jazz Records on July 10, 2026.
The album introduces Antila’s new quintet, combining the light and airy sound of clarinet, vibraphone and acoustic guitar with the deep, earthy foundation of double bass and drums.
The creative yet solid interplay of drummer Teppo Mäkynen and double bassist Antti Lötjönen meets the breathing, expressive approach of a younger generation of musicians, creating a unique atmosphere around Antila’s compositions. The music radiates calmness, playfulness and a strong sense of connection between the musicians.
MIKKO ANTILA
Born in 1998, Mikko Antila is a Finnish vibraphonist, composer and multi-instrumentalist. Thanks to his versatile skills, lively improvisation and highly communicative playing style, Antila has become a sought-after musician on the Finnish music scene.
He has performed with, among others, ensembles led by Mikko Innanen, Teppo Mäkynen, Kaisa Mäensivu and Panu Savolainen.
Antila is known as a bold soloist, an attentive accompanist and a relaxed atmosphere creator. Regardless of the instrument he plays, his approach is always focused on serving the music as a whole.
His artistic work can also be heard on Helmi Antila’s Emma-nominated debut album “Kuvia Nuoruudesta”, Mikko Hassinen’s album “Future Food Factory”, as well as on the fusion group PEELA’s albums “Notbad” and “Stepping Stones”.
