The stand-up solo performance Aina saa hävetä is a sequel to Pöllänen’s first solo performance, Pitäiskö hävetä? The first part asked if you should, the second part answered that you always get it, but maybe you don’t need to, at least not that much.

Aina saa hävetä is a heartbreakingly personal and self-made comedic diagnosis of humanity’s most terrible emotion, i.e. shame. The enthusiasm for the subject stems from Pöllänen’s own life. On the way to adulthood, Helena has patched herself and her life’s path together in many twists and turns, and although the journey includes tragedy, Aristotle’s equation applies to this performance too: tragedy + time = comedy. Towards horrors, but always through joy!

Let’s be embarrassed together and work it out in a group until all that’s left is acceptance and laughter.
