Teerenpeli x Apulanta

21.1.2026

Apulanta, one of Finland’s most influential and successful rock bands, and Teerenpeli Panimo & Tislaamo Oy, one of Finland’s oldest small breweries, have signed a cooperation agreement.

The agreement includes a joint beer that will be sold in Teerenpeli restaurants and well-stocked grocery stores, as well as restaurants and bars on May Day 2026. It is a Berliner Weisse-style raspberry beer, or Vattukalja.

The initiative for the cooperation came from Apulanta.

– At Apis, we like to work with people from Päijäthäme. That’s why Teerenpeli was a pretty obvious choice. Plus, they know how to make really good drinks, says Sipe Santapukki.

Teerenpeli’s entrepreneurial couple, Marianne and Anssi Pyysing, are excited about their new partner.

– Apulanta and we are connected by locality, Päijänne and a love for the Finnish language. When we founded Teerenpeli in 1994, it was fashionable to give a bar an English name. We wanted to name our restaurant in Finnish. Apulanta had already been around for three years at that point. Apis has had a fantastic career and Toni and Sipe are also bright and charismatic as individuals, Marianne and Anssi Pyysing praise.

– We have always wanted to do things in our own style and this raspberry beer continues that line. It has its own sound that you can feel from the first bite. And it is also true that good raspberry beer is simply really hard to find anywhere. That is why we made it like this now, says Toni Wirtanen.

The combination of water filtered through Salpausselkä and domestic grain and raspberry creates a whole, Vattukalja, which is already easy to predict will be the highlight of next summer’s festivals.

– We both tour festivals with Apis in the summer. Toni and Sipe on stage and Teerenpeli in a container selling beer. And now this fruit of our love, Vattukalja, is also coming along, Anssi Pyysing sums up.
