Teerenpeli Yhtiöt has taken a significant step towards the future when the children of entrepreneur couple Anssi and Marianne Pyysing, Iina and Iisakki Pyysing, joined the company as owners. The ownership arrangement strengthens Teerenpeli’s long-standing commitment to family entrepreneurship and responsible business development in the coming decades.
“We are very happy and proud that our children want to be part of the Teerenpeli story. This is a big moment for us both as a family and as entrepreneurs,” says CEO Anssi Pyysing. “The importance of family entrepreneurship has become even stronger in a time when the world situation is uncertain in many ways and the business environment is constantly changing.”
Teerenpeli Yhtiöt was founded in 1994 and is known as a pioneer in Finnish microbrewery and distillery culture. The company’s operations include Teerenpeli Brewery & Distillery and several Teerenpeli restaurants around Finland, as well as the restaurant Taivaanranta, Wine Cafe Olavi and the ship restaurant Teerenranta in Lahti. Over the years, the company has grown into a significant player in the industry while maintaining its strong roots and values.
New generation, same passion Both Iina and Iisakki have followed the family business closely for years, and both have experience in restaurant jobs at the company’s various locations.
“Teerenpeli has always been a part of our lives, and now felt like the right time to take the next step,” say Iina (30) and Iisakki (26) Pyysing. “We want to bring fresh ideas with us, but at the same time respect the company’s history and values.” According to the second generation, the arrival strengthens Teerenpeli’s continuity and creates a foundation for sustainable growth in the future.
Board work is being renewed – strategic expertise from outside As part of building Teerenpeli’s future, the company has also strengthened its board work. Manu Mesimäki, who has a strong background in entrepreneurship, developing digital businesses and utilizing artificial intelligence, has been appointed as a new member of the board. He brings strategic vision and experience that supports Teerenpeli’s growth and renewal in a changing operating environment.
“Manu’s expertise complements the board of directors perfectly and brings us new perspectives, especially in the areas of digitalization and technology,” says Development Director Marianne Pyysing. “We believe that external expertise, combined with the family’s continued ownership, provides a strong foundation for the company’s next steps.”
